Chronic Illness and Lyme Associated Diseases

We are pleased to offer care for borreliosis (Lyme Disease) and related conditions.

Please know that new patients seeking lyme disease treatment will be required to do our foundations of healing program. This program is designed to prepare new patients for a successful treatment. Please Visit This Page to learn more.

Typical Treatment Schedule:

1. Nurse Intake – New patients will be asked to schedule a phone call nurse intake with one of our nurses prior to having an appointment with their nurse practitioner. During this nurse intake, your nurse will ask about your symptoms and history. Please plan to spend 25 – 60 minutes in this appointment. The time depends how much of your history you would like to discuss. Afterwards, they may have supplement products and/or laboratory work recommendations for you to do before your provider appointment. Your initial appointment will happen after your results come back. If you have already done lab tests, your nurse will take that into account when ordering labs.

2. First Appointment – We ask that you come in-person to the clinic to be seen by our providers. They will review your medical history and go over lab work done. Together, you will form a treatment plan based on the results and the nature of your health concerns. Plan to spend 60 minutes at the clinic.

2. Follow-up Appointments – Your first follow-up appointment is about 1-2 month(s) after your initial visit. It is designed to see how you are progressing in the treatment so far. Changes or adjustments may be made according to your needs. If treatment is going well, then follow-up appointments will be more spaced out. Most patients do follow up every 2-4 months after their first follow-up.

3. Your Medications/Supplements/Antibiotics – We do use antibiotics and medications for the treatment plans. We give supplement recommendations to support your body while undergoing the lyme disease treatment. Your provider will explain more during your initial appointment. Patients may request accommodations to their needs.

Telehealth Treatment – We ask that you be seen in-person for your first appointment so the nursing staff can see how you are doing. After that, we can do follow-up appointments virtually.

Treatment for Children – We do offer pediatric treatment for lyme disease. Pediatric patients will do treatment with Rachel Hill. We ask that you come in to the office for the first appointment.

The Foundations of Healing

If you are a new patient coming to our clinic for tick-borne illness or lyme associated disease, you will be required to do our initial program: The Foundations of Healing. This program includes your nurse intake, the first 6 months of your office appointments, and several laboratory tests. The labs involved are designed to give your provider an excellent understanding of your health, nutritional deficiencies, various infections, and other problems that are commonly found in patients with lyme disease. Past patients who do this program progress very well throughout treatment. Those who have not done the program, struggled more to progress.

Upon finishing the 6-months of the foundations program, you will either graduate from treatment or have the option to continue treatment

Please visit our Foundations page to learn more about all of our foundations programs.

The prices below are based on a $125 / 15-minutes rateMost patients should expect their first appointment to be an hour long. If you are coming because of a recent tick-bite or mild symptoms that may not be very complex, your appointment may not require as much time as most patients. We will apply the hourly rate to your visit instead.

Supplements and lab work are not included in the cost of the office appointments.

Lab testing for Lyme and related infections

We offer a variety of testing options. Read below for details

Varies widely, can range from $450 to $1,900.  Medicare and some other insurance plans may reimburse for the cost of testing.

Your nurse will discuss pricing and affordability prior to ordering to see what is best for you.

Lab Testing for Lyme and Related Infections
We use laboratory testing from IGeneX and TLab.  Most results are available within 3 weeks.  A few tests take up to 6 weeks. The majority of these tests are blood draws.
  • With the exception of traditional Medicare (not HMOs or PPOs), insurance companies do not generally pay directly for specialty labs. This is not our policy, it is theirs.  Payment is due at the time of service.  You can be provided an itemized receipt with diagnosis and lab codes that can be submitted to insurance or other third-party payers for out-of-network reimbursement.  The rate of reimbursement varies widely from plan to plan. We recommend consulting with your insurance company to see if they will provide out-of-network reimbursement for you.
  • To learn more about the advantages of specialty Lyme & Associated diseases testing (as well as some of the shortcomings of normal laboratory Lyme disease testing) be sure to watch episode 8 of our podcast titled, “Diagnostic Challenges and Recommendations for Vector-Borne Infections.
