Lyme Borreliosis and Associated Diseases

We are pleased to offer testing and treatment for Lyme Disease and related conditions.

Please know that new patients seeking Lyme disease treatment will be required to complete our Foundations of Health program. This program is designed to prepare new patients for  successful treatment. Please Visit This Page to learn more.

Typical Treatment Schedule:

1. Nurse Intake – New patients will be asked to schedule a phone call nurse intake with one of our nurses prior to having an appointment with their provider. During the nurse intake, your nurse will ask about your symptoms and history. Please plan to spend 30 – 60 minutes in this appointment.  The nurse will review results with a provider who will order appropriate labs.  Your initial appointment with the provider will happen after your results come back.  The cost of the nurse intake is $200 and will be charged at the time of the visit.
Why is a nurse intake required?
To save you time and money
How?
We noticed that patients were spending most of their first visit going over history with the nurse practitioner, who then ordered labs.  We realized that patients could be seen faster and more affordably if they first met with the nurse and ordered labs.  Now we have your results and can hit the ground running at your first appointment.

2. First Appointment – We ask that you come in person to the clinic to be seen by our providers. They will review your medical history and go over lab work done. Together, you will form a treatment plan based on the results and the nature of your health concerns. Plan to spend 60-90 minutes at the clinic for your first visit.

2. Follow-up Appointments – Your first follow-up appointment is typically 1-2 month(s) after your initial visit. It is designed to see how you are progressing in the treatment. Changes or adjustments may be made according to your needs.  Frequency of visits after that depends on your individual needs and preferences. Most patients follow up every three to four months after their first follow-up.

3. Your Medications and Supplements – We typically rely on a combination of supplements and prescription medications.  Treatment is individualized and based on your symptoms, labs, history, and preferences.

Telehealth Treatment – You must be seen in person for your first appointment.  Most patients are able to do telehealth following the first appointment, but must be seen in person once or twice a year.  Your provider will discuss your individual care schedule.

Treatment for Children – We do offer testing and treatment for children.

Foundations of Healing

If you are a new patient coming to our clinic for treatment of Lyme borreliosis and associated diseases, you will be required to enroll in Foundations of Healing. This program includes your nurse intake, the first 6 months of your office appointments, and extensive laboratory testing. The labs involved are designed to give your provider an excellent understanding of your health, nutritional deficiencies, toxic burden, hormone imbalances, and other problems that can impact your body’s ability to heal from infection.

Upon finishing the six-month Foundations of Healing program, you have the option of enrolling in a membership and continuing care with AHP.

Please visit our Foundations page to learn more about all of our Foundations programs.

If you are unsure if Foundations is right for you, you can pay for a nursing intake and one-time consultation with one of our providers prior to proceeding.  At your appointment, the provider will review your labs and discuss treatment options, but no treatment will be prescribed at that time.  You must enroll in Foundations to receive care!

Why are we so insistent about Foundations?

Why can’t we just treat the infection and get over with it already?

To save you time and money.

How?

Through years of practice, we have found that patients who correct underlying deficiencies, target toxins, and rebalance biochemical imbalances first respond much better to treatment.

In fact, some of them don’t end up needing to treat the infection at all because their symptoms resolve before they get to that point.

The cost of your first six months of visits (one 90-minute visit, one 60-minute visit, and two 45-minute visits) is included in your Foundations Package.  The cost of those visits is based on a $125 / 15-minutes rate.  After you complete six months of treatment, you can enroll in a Membership Program and pay per visit for follow-up.

Lab testing for Lyme borreliosis and related infections

We offer a variety of testing options. Read below for details

Varies widely, can range from $450 to $1,900.  Medicare and some other insurance plans may reimburse for the cost of testing.

Your nurse will discuss pricing and affordability prior to ordering to see what is best for you.

Lab Testing for Lyme and Related Infections
We use laboratory testing from IGeneX and TLab.  Most IGeneX results are available within 3 weeks.  TLab can take up to 6 weeks. The majority of these tests are blood draws.
  • With the exception of traditional Medicare (not HMOs or PPOs), insurance companies do not generally pay directly for specialty labs. This is not our policy; it is theirs.  Payment is due to the lab at the time of service.  You can be provided an itemized receipt with diagnosis and lab codes that can be submitted to insurance or other third-party payers for out-of-network reimbursement.  The rate of reimbursement varies widely from plan to plan. We recommend consulting with your insurance company to see if they will provide out-of-network reimbursement for you.
